Purchase Schemes
Introduction
This section of our site tells you about the different types of schemes available to support homebuyers & highlights the products available through NatWest Intermediary Solutions under these schemes.
Government-backed purchase schemes are designed to give more people the opportunity to purchase homes by giving them financial support.
There are two basic types of purchase schemes:
Shared equity
- Customers can buy their house using a combination of a conventional mortgage and an equity loan (a loan secured against the equity in the property)
- NatWest Intermediary Solutions will consider applications with Shared Equity funding providing there are no restrictive covenants e.g. on resale price or who the property can be sold on to.
Shared ownership
- Customers can buy a share of their home, with the rest owned by a third party, usually a housing association
- NatWest Intermediary Solutions won't accept applications based on Shared Ownership
